Planning for Surgery
You
must have an adult available to accompany you at the time
of discharge. You will not be allowed to drive home. This
is for your safety. You must have a responsible adult with
you even if you are taking a cab.
- A child must be accompanied by 2 adults. Again, for safety reasons, the driver of a vehicle should not be tending to a post-operative child.
- Every patient must have a responsible adult with him/her for the first 24 hours following surgery.
- Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before
surgery unless your anesthesiologist gives you other instructions.
For safety reasons, your surgery may be cancelled if the above arrangements have not been made.
