About Your Surgery

Day of Surgery

Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery unless your anesthesiologist gives you other instructions. If you do, your surgery will be cancelled.

  • StaffIt is important that you arrive on time and report to the surgery center one hour before your scheduled time of surgery. Occasionally delays may occur and we will make every effort to advise you of delays.
  • If your child is having surgery please bring a favorite toy or blanket. Pacifiers are allowed.
  • Do Not bring children, other than the patient, to the surgery center.
  • Do Not bring money, jewelry, credit cards or other valuables. You may wear your wedding band if it does not interfere with your surgery.
  • Do Not wear any makeup or fingernail or toenail polish.
  • Wear casual clothes that can be folded easily and will be comfortable after surgery.
  • Advise the nurse of the name of the person driving you home.
  • Be sure you bring an age-appropriate infant/child car seat for your vehicle.
